Privacy policy

FussyPicker is a simple curation site. We keep the data we handle to a minimum: there are no accounts to create and no login. This page explains what happens with your data when you use the site.

What stays in your browser

We save two small conveniences in your browser storage: the currency you pick and whether you prefer light or dark mode. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser data.

What reaches our server

Browsing our pages does not require you to give us any personal information. Our host (Cloudflare Pages) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. When you use the "check a link" tool, the AliExpress link you paste is sent to our server only to look that product up through the AliExpress API. We do not store the link or tie it to you.

If you subscribe

If you join our email digest, you enter your email and tick a consent box, and we send a confirmation email to make sure the address is really yours (a double opt-in). We store your email address, the date and IP address of your consent as proof that you asked to be emailed, and your subscription status. We use this only to send you the weekly shortlist. The list is stored on Cloudflare, and the emails are sent through Resend, both acting as our processors.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click stops all emails immediately. We keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed so we do not contact you again. If you would rather have your data deleted entirely, ask us on Telegram and we will remove it.

Third parties

When you click through to AliExpress you leave our site, and AliExpress may set its own cookies to attribute the visit, which is governed by AliExpress's own privacy policy. If you reached us from a Pinterest pin, Pinterest's policy applies to that. To show prices in your currency we fetch exchange rates from a public rates service, and that request carries no personal data. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the site.

Analytics

We keep our own simple, privacy-first analytics so we can see which pages are popular and which links bring people to the site. When you open a page, your browser sends us the page path, any campaign tags in the link (utm_source and similar), and the site you came from. We store this only as aggregate counts. We do not set any cookie for this, we do not store your IP address with it, and there is nothing in it that identifies you.

Your choices

You can clear the currency and theme values by clearing your browser storage, decline to use the check tool, and unsubscribe from the email digest at any time.
